Brrrrrrrrr!

Evening campers!
I hope you've all had a good week and are now bathing in the joyous news that the weekend has finally arrived....Hoorah!
It's been the most beautiful cold, crisp & sunny day today AND I've watched it all from my warm, snuggly end of the sofa....Perfect!
I'm hoping (and I use the word 'hoping' loosely) to finally get all my Christmas cards finished over the weekend, how are you all doing with yours? I've made about 60 odd and I think I've got another 20 to do.
Tomorrow the ladder comes out and the loft hatch cobwebs dusted away as I shimmy Mr C up to retrieve the Christmas decorations.....Woo! Hoo!
I hope you all have a great weekend x

That Perfect Gift...

Tiz the most inclement of days out today, the wind's blowing the rain horizontally across the garden and it's F-F-F-Freezing too.
Time for a hot bath...hmmmm...wonder if Mr C would like a shower cap for Christmas?

Yippee!

I hope I find you all well.
Some areas of Blighty have had the most awful weather this weekend. I feel so sorry for all those people whose homes have been flooded. Thankfully we don't live anywhere near rivers or in a low lying area but we did get really strong winds last night, I'm amazed the fences were still standing this morning.
This evening Mr C opened the back door & there was the longest, weirdest of rumbles of thunder I've ever heard. No lightening, just a continuous roar that sounded more like something from that film War of the Worlds where the alien machines rise from the earth...very scary, long and loud...then it was gone....Bizarre.
Thank you everyone for your kind messages to my Sophie. The 'Yippee' is for her...the medication is working at last!
Have a great weekend y'all.

Gawn Fishing

Angling Andy sure has got a whopper and the 'smuggiest' of smug looks to boot.
No sign of a fishing rod though...hmmmm....me thinks he's cheated with a trip to the fishmongers.
Kids won't remember Fishmongers, Butchers or Bakers...they were from the black n' white days.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

Panic Stations!

"Silent Night (not)
Choking, snoring, spluttering night
All aint calm
I look a sight"
After a 3rd night sleeping on a dodgy blow-up bed on the floor in our Sof's bedroom while she's poorly, my usual Elle Macpherson look first thing in the morning has been missing of late.
It's like being woken up every 2 hours by a meerkat, in this case it's to dispense pain killers rather than fluffy toys. Fingers crossed that she's possibly turning a corner today in her recovery. She's reached a 3/10, having been 2/10 for the past 2 weeks on the 'How Rubbish Do You Feel' scale (which is an official medical tool!)

Now...there comes a point in everyones life when sheer terror & panic sets in. For some it's the sight of a spider, for others it's a scary movie and for many it's toast accidently covered in Marmite.
For us crafters it's Christmas suddenly appearing days, rather than months, away.
Brace yourselves...31 days to go (minus 29 in order to give postie time to deliver...lol)
Panic stations! I have resorted to using some peelies, yes I know...'groan'...peelies (there...said it again)...peelies, peelies, peelies... to make a lot of CAS cards for Mr C alongside dies from Memory Box & Cheery Lynn & some gems.
I know I've sinned...forgive me.

Bedside Manners

Thank you to everyone for your good wishes to my Sophie. Poor kid's been ill for over 2 weeks now...at first we all thought it was the flu, including the doctor. Then it turned out to be tonsillitis but the antibiotics didn't work so now, after a third visit to the doctors she's on stronger meds, pain relief & throat numbing sprays, blah, blah, blah (along with lollies & ice-cream). Hoping that everything kicks in tomorrow...it's awful to see her so unwell & unhappy.
Maude Doodlebuns (above) has a wonderful bedside manner, people always seems to miraculously feel better when she's around...hmmmm....I wonder why?

Jaffa Snorting

Greetings Fellow Bloggers!
I hope you all had a good weekend. I spent mine flitting between my nurses outfit & my crafters hat...and before you start thinking I've gone all kinky dressing up, my Sof's not at all well at the moment, the doc's not sure if it's a type of flu or some kinda weird virus but it's been going on for almost 2 weeks and now my Oliver's got a hacking cough so our living-room looks like the ER (minus George Clooney). When the brows had been mopped & their every need tended to I found some time to make some Christmas cards for Mr C.
On Saturday night Mr C suggested the kids had an early night and that we go to bed with a cuppa & a jaffa and watch TV. I thought maybe a romantic film, a bit o' slush before.......?
Well I found him laying there watching a gory horror film!! I don't 'do' horror films, my overactive imagination goes into mega-over-drive & I end up having nightmares, so I went & grabbed some images I'd printed off & my pens & thought I'd colour to distract myself from the hideous film.
Warning!
Do not eat Jaffa cakes in bed if the film on TV involves eyeballs & metal rods or hands & nails (of the joinery kind). Somehow I managed to choke on said Jaffa, some got snorted back up my internal nasal pipework & the rest got splattered over the duvet. Several slaps on the back later the jaffa was dislodged from my throat, the remainder I had to blow out through my nose into tissues.
Who says romance is dead?
Remember kids, don't try this at home, I do these experiments so you don't have to!

He's Got Balls

Derek sure does have balls...he's quite the sportsman. But with a wife like Deirdery, it's essential that Derek remains in tip-top condition...she's one feisty woman.
I'm Dreaming of a Wide Christmas
To get your hands on Derek, before Deirdery devours him, you need to pay a visit to the Doc at Doctor Digi's House of Stamps. Tell him you've come to rescue Derek and while you're there in the waiting room check out all the other fabulous digi's n' decoupage on offer. There's also a freebie to grab too.

Mo's Digital Pencil Blog Hop

Coooooo-eeeeeey!
Welcome to this months Blog Hop from the Gang at Mo's Digital Pencil.
Our hostess is Kerttu and she has chosen the theme of...
'a card with a little gift inside'
I thought this card might make a gift for a gardener as behind the Rustic Window are an assortment of flower seeds. So when the recipient has finished with the card, they can take it apart & grow their own window box of blooms.
Now...it's imperative that you join in our hop this month as I'm sure the rest of my teamies will have some fab inspiration that could just resolve all your Christmas gift ideas.
You should have arrived here from Kerttu's lovely blog and after me it's our Julie.
There's 2 spot prizes of $5 up for grabs for 2 lucky peeps who leave some 'lurv' along the hop to spend at Mo's Digital Pencil.
Enjoy!

Leaf It Out!

Wotcha You Lovely Lot!
Despite my good intentions...and trust me, I'm trying really hard...I can't make Christmas cards.
I sit there, surrounded by tinsel, glitter, Christmas images, red & green Promarkers & festive papers.
I stick on a Cliff Richard CD and then this happens...a leafy card. I can't help myself. (ahem!)

Just Inklined Blog Hop

Greetings Earthlings & welcome to this months Blog Hop from the gang over at Just Inklined.
Our hostess, serving pineapple & cheese cubes at the door, is Lori and she's chosen the theme of Lace & Handmade Flowers.

The more observant amongst you will be wondering where my lace is...well, I've opted to make a punched lacy border, as their is a distinct lack of lacy garments in our household. Ones lacy lingerie has already be de-laced for previous cards and now winter is drawing in, floaty, lacy, frilly under-garments are no good...in with the sensible winceyette passion-killers!
So enough about my underwear...here's my card....I've used Ted & Agnes who are perfect for an anniversary or wedding card. The border is a Martha Stewart punch & the flowers are an X-Cut punch with the petals pinched & Card Candy centres.
If you're joining in with our hop then you should have arrived here from Tangii's tantalising blog and as I'm at the end, Lori's lovely blog is the place to go if you want to start back at the begining.
As always, there are a couple of spot prizes on offer, so leave some 'lurv' along the way for your chance to win.
Good luck & Enjoy the Hop.

Snuggle on the Sofa Sunday

Grrrrr....why is Blogger blurring my cards again?
Enuff 'Grrrrrring'..... it's a rainy ol' Sunday here in south Blighty.
I made everyone a late breakfast in bed & after catching up with the latest episode of Gardener's World & Come Dine with Me (Hilarious!) I though we ought to get up before it was time to put on our jim-jams again. It's one of those stay indoors & snuggle-up kinda days...hoping to get loads of cards made (hmmmmmm....let's see if that happens).
Here's another of my experimental cards with my latest 'lurvs'...Adirondack Dye pads. Here I've just used one colour and a bit of masking.
Could really do with a bacon sarnie right now...Waiter!

Slurp!

Howdy Partners!
Trust I find you all in fine fettle.
With 51 days until Christmas, fav' daughter & I have spent the day festive shopping. Actually we only popped out for 30 mins to buy a piece of material, then one thing led to another (again) and 5 hours later we returned with 50% of our Christmas prezzies purchased.
I just love buying presents and the shops are looking so cheery & colourful at the moment.
I can't get into the swing of making christmas cards though....30 mins making Christmas cards never turns into 5 hours. Need to pull my finger out before panic sets in.
Have a groovy weekend everyone.
xx
