Puffing Sharpies

A (33)

Ahoy!
I hope you’ve all had a fabulous Christmas & that Santa was kind.

My crafting experiments continue. The bin beside my little workstation is overflowing with disasters but I am, thankfully, having some success.

My card today was made using the Mini Aspen Trees template from Crafters Workshop & ‘puffing’ black & silver Sharpies pens with my Tim Holtz marker spritzer tool.
The white foliage is a Memory Box die, ‘Gentle leaf’, & the flowers are from one of the Papermania Capsule collections.

Enjoy your New Year celebrations.
See you next year.

And now….

…for something completely different.

P1030225

I have several new craft BFFs.
The first is Liquitex Gloss Super Heavy Gel. Smeared over a stencil (this is a mini Cell Theory template from Crafter’s Workshop) you can create some beautiful effects. It goes on white but dries clear and because I wanted to use my second BFFs, Brusho paints, I’ve used satin silk art card which allows the paint to move about a bit before drying.

These little pots of powdered paints are amazing.
Everyone seems to just poke a hole in the pot lid in order to dispense the powder. It’s truly magical stuff & the mix of colours in some of the pots is quite unusual….

The gel takes a couple of hours or so to dry properly & then you’re ready to play.
On this one I spritzed the card with water & then shook out a few sprinkles of Leaf Green & Turquoise Brushos. Trust me….a LITTLE goes a long way, these paints should last forever!
A quick puff with my third BFF, the Tim Holtz Distress Tim Holtz Distress Marker Spritzer tool (minus any pens) just to move the paint around et voila!

Lush isn’t it?
Leave it to dry then my top tip would be to give it a quick coating of hairspray just to seal the colours. This paint is VERY intense & will temporarily stain your mitts & I do find it still rubs off a bit even when dry so I just hairspray to be sure.

Here’s my finished card.
There’s a lot of playing experimenting going on on my craft desk at the mo’, using all manner of things I’ve never used before, including embossing paste, masking fluid, stencils, shaving foam & more brusho paint techniques.
Until next time….XXX

My gardening jobs are now coming to an end for the year so I’m hoping to get some serious ‘playtime’ over the festive period with my pre-Christmas treat to myself.
Gonna have a go at some mixed-media art & scrapbooking.
Have a great week….stay warm.

Boing!

A (171)

Ribbit!

A busy weekend Christmas prezzie hunting has passed & I’m 99% there now.
Card’s all made, written, enveloped & stuck down ready to post, gifts wrapped & if he wasn’t such a damned ‘Bah Humbug’, then Mr C would have been shimmied in the loft for the tree n’ baubles!!
Apparently I have to be patient & wait til’ December….Grrrr

So to occupy myself I have been rummaging thru my vast crafting stash and re-visiting some old stamps & other bits n’ bobs that I’m guilty of owning.

Catch yer next time X

…I’m back!
Sheesh I’ve missed you all..sniff!
It’s been a busy year chez nous. I’ve been gardening almost non-stop, our son n’ heir has started at a new school and fav’ daughter has applied to university. It seems like only yesterday they were wee babes.
Life sure is flying by...sigh.
Anyway, I’ve dusted off my crafting corner et voila!
It’s good to be back.

AWOL

JC Blog (3)

Yo Peeps!

Zero time to make cards at the mo’ - these were made last summer.
I’m concentrating more on my gardening work & gardening blog nowadays (Tidy Gardens by Jane) so new cards to post will be rare.
These were made using Flourishes stamps that were bought for me by much beloved Christmas 2012 (yes…I know, 2012!!)
Anyway, I hope to be back once in a while.

Toilet Humour

Kay Bond (11) - Copy

Ahoy and a Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas, seems a lifetime ago already.
I just loved all the build up to the big
day, I don’t care that the shops started selling their Christmas wares in August but I confess that once the day is over I do hanker for normality again. That said, I like having the Christmas tree all lit up & was pondering removing the baubles n’ tinsel & having less festive coloured lights on it for the next 11 months. Mr C gave me one of ‘those’ looks, so I guess that’s a ‘No!’

Here’s a card that I made recently for a buddy using the fabulous ‘Airfresh Fiona’ from Doctor Digi’s House of Stamps.

Can’t stop… I have a new greenhouse to stroke.

Wishing you all a fantabulous 2014!!
