Art Impressions - His & Hers Campers

Just a quickie today to remind you (residents of a chilly Blighty) that summer will soon be here.

This stamp set from Art Impressions (His & Hers Campers) reminds me of my grandads who always wore white vests. Funny how things change, men wouldn't be seen dead in them these days, let alone the string versions that existed...lol.

Let's start a campaign to bring them back....or not? Ha! Ha!

Leaf Canopy - Altenew

Happy Saturday Y'all!
I hope you're having a groovy weekend.
Today my card features images from my joint favourite stamp set, 'Leaf Canopy' by Altenew (joint fav' with 'Garden Grow', also by Altenew).

I am a complete sucker for leafy stamp sets.

I dug out the ol' VersaMagic chalk inks as they are so creamy and thick and leave a great impression first time.

I stamped one branch straight on to the card base and the others were die-cut just to add a bit of dimension, je ne sais quoi and va-va-voom (like you do) 😆

To finish, I coloured  the leaves with a Wink of Stella and blobbed a few Nuvo Drops here and there.
Job done.

Fire Ruby Icing Paste - Finnabair

If you buy any crafty product this year get this...Prima / Finnabair's Fire Ruby Icing Paste. You don't need to make anything with it...just sit n' look at it, give it a stir & look at it some more. It's gorrrrrrjus stuff... a thick, creamy, sparkly gel / paste and the colour is mind bogglingly lush. Like rich, red blood but in a non-gory way.

Having sat for 8 days...staring, stirring, oooohing n' arrrring and staring some more....I decided to use it with my all time favourite stencil, 'Cell Theory' by Crafter's Workshop, and made a card.

You can put it on as thin or as thick as you like, it'll dry with what ever texture and depth you desire.

And that colour!!!!!

Alcohol Inks - No 16

Ahoy!
Let me introduce you to 'No 16', another of my nattily named alcohol pieces.
I actually made it about a year ago but along with 3 others that I am yet to post, I have lost all of the details and 'how I made it' photos as my tablet crashed and wiped out the whole lot....Grr
Pork chop fingers and delicate keyboards...not always a good mix... but I would hazard a guess that I drizzled 91% alcohol across the sheet of 9" × 11" yupo, dropped a selection of pinks and purples, sloshed it about, maybe puffed the colours around and then added dots of alcohol with a fine paintbrush.
Hmmmm....pretty sure it was that simple...😆

New Year Wishes

Welcome to 2019 on yee olde bloglet.
Have you made any resolutions for the year ahead?
I've resolved to try and grow more of our own food this year plus spend more time actually crafting and less time buying crafty supplies and browsing addictive sites like Pinterest.

Trouble is, there are sooooo many bits of crafty gorgeousness out there, it's difficult to resist but I'm gonna try real hard and use what I already have.
Let's see how long that resolution lasts...lol

Today I have a little mixed media birdhouse to share with you. Mixed media was a big step out of my comfort zone last year and boy did I enjoy being creative with different elements, textures and new mediums.
Definitely something I will continue to explore in 2019.

So from me to you, a humongous wish for a year of good health and happiness.
You can keep up with my gardening exploits and all things 'planty' over on my other blog... Tidy Gardens by Jane
I'll be back soon x
