Wake Up and Smell the ...Lavender!

Bizarre title I know...but there you go...It's Tuesday, what do you expect!?

I made this for a pals birthday today (Happy Birthday Charlotte!). It's a beautiful stamp called 'Clusters' from Penny Black, coloured with Promarkers with mauve gem tips to the flowers. Punched flower border & another random scattering of flowers. A lot of 'randomness' going on this week!

An alcohol-indulged frenzy took place on this card...and NOT a drop passed my lips. Mind you I was leaning over the evaporating liquid, inhaling 'Big-Time' as it dried...waste not, want not!!

I used Sail Boat Blue, Pool and Silver alcohol inks with splashes of blending solution and a few turquoise dew drops randomly scattered. I've not added a sentiment yet, will add when the occasion arises.

Having spent the evening celebrating my new job with a cup of tea & a garibaldi I then couldn't sleep last night with all the excitement, so I'm using sellotape (other sticky tapes are available!) to hold my eyes-lids open. Favourite daughter also had to get up V.early this morning as she's off to Paris for the weekend on a school trip. A wee lump in my throat as the coach slipped away in the distance...weep!

This is Scarlette from Bugaboo enjoying a 'tipple' of the strong stuff. Coloured with Promarkers, with DP's from the Wild Rose Studio 'In Love With Japan' collection & flower embellies made from flowers cut from the same collection curled & flittered with glitter with blue flower gem centres.

Skipping With Joy!!!!!

Woop! Woop!

Oh Boy...I can't believe it...only 2 months into my little Gardening enterprise & I've landed my dream job. I'm going to be the gardener for Mr Van Hage himself!!!

I've only just had the call & am way too excited to think straight, so I'm keeping this post short.

I made this card a few weeks ago for a Raffle Gift-Set prize. It's the perfect card to express how I feel right now. It's Ali Skipping from Make it Crafty coloured with Promarkers & cut out, the DP is from Doodlebug, punched out flowers, butterflies & leaves.

Off to have a lie down & calm my nerves then a wee celebration!!

Fully Recovered!

You'll be glad to hear that I have finally recovered from my brush with the Lycra-Clad men on bikes. I'm sure one of them dropped something & was wondering if I should go back to where I saw them yesterday & draw it to their attention if they pass by again. Obviously, talking to strangers is not something I promote so if anyone would like to come with me let me know (wear cotton as it's gets very hot !!!)

A request for a Baby Girl card today, made using Bathtime Ellie from Digistamp Boutique. I've paper-pieced her bath & bow & used a variety of Papermania DP's to decorate. One of my own Cuttlebug plate squashed flower creations & Crealie leaves & some pearly pins that I've had for yonks et Voila!

No card today...3 men on their bikes wearing tight-fitting lycra rode pass me earlier and I can't think straight!!! Wasn't sure where to look...but...if anyone would like a 'minute' breakdown of their attire, I can provide FULL details!!!

Is it the Weekend Yet?

Plans to chillax on a deckchair this weekend in the garden soaking up some rays were dashed when a gale-force wind decided otherwise. My deckchair is now wedged into the bloke down the roads hedge having been whipped up and away over the fence and my thong-bikini splayed across his car windscreen caught up on the wipers!! I shall retrieve in the dead of night under the cover of darkness.

This card was a request & made with the help of my 'Word'-literate offspring who did the name bit for me. I've had the DP for years & darned if I can work out who it's by but it has 'Murray Hill' on the side. Punched out flowers, pearls, glitter & card candy to finish.

Can't venture out today...way too windy! Not concerned about my hair being blown all over the place...more worried about the wind revealing tomorrows washing to all n' sundry!!!

My card this 'hurricaney' day is a purple ensemble of DPs from the Making Memories Simply Fabulous Meg collection & Bazzill card with a gothicky digi called Gossmere from Tiddlyinks coloured with Promarkers. Fuzzy-wuzzy Felt Fusion from Queen & Co at Charmed Cards and Crafts and a swirl of gems.

Yes...the weekend has been dragged kicking n' screaming & it's finally here!!

I for one will indulge in some much needed sleep & Oliver (my favouritist son in the whole world) wants us to make bread together...so any orders for 'paperweights'...get yours in now!!

This card was a request. It's the most beautiful digi from the very talented & generous Beccy (all her digi's are free!) at Beccy's Place. I printed it out a few times so I could 3D some of the leaves & flowers with foam pads. The stamens are teeny orange gems with a peel-off sentiment to finish.

Cateringly Challenged & Happy Anniversary!

Yes...15 years ago today the line "Thou shalt Cook Heavenly Meals" was quickly crossed out of my wedding vows by the vicar. It's also 15 years ago today that the "Gaviscon Man of the Year" award was first given out...funny how my OH has won it every year since!!

It is true...I am 'challenged' in the catering department & the smoke alarm has become the signal that dinner is ready. Only yesterday my 'favourite' daughter asked if the sausages I'd just dished up were cooked properly as they had a 'meaty' appearance as opposed to their usual charcoaled look. We don't use knives & forks, we have sledge-hammers n' chisels!!

I shall prepare a romantic salad tonight to celebrate my OH's 'endurance'...can't go wrong there.

This was my card for the poor man...this is Imperfection & Vintage Stove from Mo's Digital Pencil, coloured with Promarkers & glitter & mounted onto some bazzill mint green card with Card Candy blobs to finish. Sentiment reads..."Smoke alarm's gone off...Dinner's ready!"

'Feline' Groovy...

I can so relate to the hound in my card today...He looks as tired as I feel!

(NO! I don't have huge slobber-chops, a long tail and flappy ears, before the snarky comments start rolling in...YOU know who you are!!)

I'm sure 'sleep-time' hours go faster than 'awake' ones...I need to stay up & check!!

A request for a card for someone who likes animals & what better digi than this one from Whimsy Stamps called Furry Friends. Coloured with PM's, the DP (I think) is from Dovecraft & the flowers are my own personal take on the latest craze for making 'rolled' flowers. For some reason mine always stand way to tall to fit into an envelope so I use 2 Cuttlebug plates & my butt to squash them flat...I will be producing a Video tutorial in the near future of my method...if I can find a wide-angle lens BIG enough.

The feathers were from Hobbycraft, purple gem necklace & a peel-off sentiment to finish.

The Joy of Text!

Incontinence! Not a condition you would normally associate with the youth of today...BUT...if like me you are 'way down with the kids, innit'...you would know that our offspring secretly suffer regular bouts of this condition, sharing only with their friends, thru the world of Text, their woes. In  a recent undercover mission, wearing ill fitting jeans with a crotch-line near my knees, a hooded 'cardi' & trainers with the laces removed...(Yes I know... Health & Safety out the window!) ...I was able to enter 'their world'.

It didn't take long before messages of PMSL, IGGP & PMP were revealed in abundance. I beg you...reach out to the youth & share their pain!!

Who could resist...?

I'd like to think that when my time comes to while away my days knitting n' rocking in my chair, wearing long frocks, an apron & shower cap 24 hours a day, that my OH will still look saucily at me across the top of his paper with those 'let's go to bed' eyes!! If my neck doesn't play me up, I'll too look cheekily back & give him a wink, that's if cataracts don't blur my vision & I mistake his elderly advances for something else!!
