Mother's Day Card

This is the card that I made for my MIL this year using an oldie but goodie stamp from Flourishes called 'Cherry Blossom'.

I stamped the image & coloured it with Zig Markers and added shimmery highlights with a Wink of Stella pen.

Using the Altenew Bold Alphabet die, I cut out the letters 'MUM' then stuck the remainder to my card base. I then cut the letters out again from a scrap of white 3d foam, stuck those letters back in the empty spaces then the original letters on top of them, to give it that 3d look....am I making any sense here??

A few sequins and Tada!
Job done.
An elegant, pink, feminine card...just like me...Not!

Feeling Fruity

Something a bit fruity for you today.
This is a great stamp set from Sunny Studio called 'Fresh & Fruity' and it screamed out to be coloured in bright, zingy colours.

I started with a 6" × 6" piece of card and stamped a selection of fruits all over it and coloured them with Zig Clean Colour Brush markers. I used a scalloped border die from MFT to cut the card in half and stuck that piece on my first card base (see card above)

I was originally going to make 2 identical cards using the other half but then I decided to cut out the fruits from the other bit and create a fruity scene instead.

I painted Glossy Accents on all of the fruits and added some sequins (gotta have sequins). The sentiments are from Altenew's 'Painted Greetings'.

See yer next time.

Something Fishy

I just love these brilliant fish stamps ('That Bites') from Avery Elle. The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter.
The 'Splatters' are made using a stencil by Mr Holtz and it's all been coloured with Zig markers and distress ink pads.
Gotta dash...see you next time.

MFT Guest Designer - Day 2

Hello and welcome back to my 2nd day Guest Designing for MFT.
Today I have 3 cards to share with you featuring more of the fabulous, February release from MFT

This is the cutie-patootie Pure Innocence - Lucky Us, she's just sooooo sweet. I coloured her with my Zig markers, used the matching die-cut to cut her out and added her to a smooshed distress inked background. I added sequin embellishments and the little horseshoes from the Die-namics Lucky die set.

For my next 2 cards I used two of the cheeky chefs from the brilliant Recipe For Happiness stamp and matching die set. In the one above I wanted to create the impression that the chef was juggling his kitchen tools. All of these pots n' pans, whisks n' spatulas are in this set.  As well as 4 chefs and a whole host of kitchen tools, you also get lots of fabulous sentiments.

On this card I used the chef and his tools of the trade to create a circular framework to highlight the sentiment which is part of one of my favourite MFT stamp sets called Amazing

Sailing By...

This is a weeny, uber-quick 4x4 inch card.

I started with a piece of left over 110gsm Yupo (a cut off from a larger piece) & swished a wobbly streak of Stream across the paper.

Once dried I did the same thing underneath the first streak....

...then repeated it one more time and my mini ocean was complete.

On a scrap of white card I stamped this sweet little sailboat from Lawn Fawn's 'Float My Boat' and cut it out.

I then cut a 2x2 inch square section of my mini ocean and, with a craft cutting blade, made a cut along the top of one of the waves. I coloured my sailboat with a Zig marker and slipped the boat into the sliced section.

I then mounted the Yupo onto another scrap of card, gave it an embossed frame and then stuck the whole thing with foam pads onto my tiny card.
As per, a few essential sequins, a sentiment from Paper Smooches, a hint of silver glitter and this card was finished.
Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to let me know if you're playing with alcohol inks.

Hello From the Other Side

Yes.... Hello  from the other side of Christmas 2015 and welcome to 2016.
I had resolved ths year to make a card every day, give up Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter as well as start a strict diet.
5 days in and I have failed miserably so I have now resolved to give up all resolutions, which I should have resolved to do in the first place.
Darned waste of 5 days...lol

Moving on...

...'Ere's a card I made using Winnie & Walter's 'In Bloom: Anna's Flora' stamp set.
I masked off a strip across the centre of the card and stamped several of the flowery images on both sides.

I then added the Happy Birthday sentiment using W&W's 'The Big, The Bold and the Happy' set but to confuse you I have taken a photo (above) of a completely different sentiment set. (Don't ask!!)

It's all coloured with the ol' Zigs, because hey...that's how I roll.
A few regulation sequins et job done.
Right...I'm off...again.

A Confession...

Howdy Doody folks!
I've 4 million(ish) Christmas cards still to squeeeeeeze in before the big day but first a confession.
Cough!
I bought...yes you read that right! I bought a pack of Christmas cards.
Cough!
There! Said it! It's out in the open....no more secrets.
I had wayyyyyy too many to make this year, I panicked and in a moment of weakness I succumbed to a pack of supermarket cards.
(Hangs head in shame & slinks back to the naughty step)

Merry Christmas from the Gardener

It's official...I've lost the plot.
The toll of making so many Christmas cards has hit.
This is the Christmas card that I made for my gardening clients this year. Each step photographed as I went along and what did I forget to do? Take a photo of the finished card....Grrrrr!!!
What a muppet (that's the polite version!!)

I used the 'Thankful Friend' stamp set from MFT, which spookily looks like me (except I look ridiculous in a hat)...lol...and the leaves stamp from the 'Harvest Mouse' set. The stamped images were masked off and the sky created with distress inks. I flicked water droplets and then quickly blotted to leave a snowy scene.

The masks were removed and the images coloured with Zig markers.

A few sequins, a splash of glitter, job done.

Merry Christmas Everyone x

Ta-Da!

Ahoy Earthlings!
Allow me to introduce Miss Maddie (Moo)...

She's a 6 month old rescued French Bulldog X Jack Russell, so a couch-potato with a feisty side. She's dead cute, quite smart and snores like a trooper. She already sits when asked and we've taught her to lay down too. She needs some socialising skills but it already feels like she's made herself at home.

So my card today feature the uber cute, yet slightly sad looking little penguin from the 'Toasty Greetings' stamp set from MFT. I stamped him (or her) out 4 times on a scrap of card, coloured them in with my Zigs and fussy cut.

I then created a simple, circlular-shaped snowy background by applying Salty Ocean distress ink with a dauber (far easier control and less chance of blender lines) and flicked water droplets before blotting with a tissue.
I added a stitched border hill and then 3 of the little fellas with foam pads.
The sentiment is from the same set.

Ta-da!
Right, can't stop, I've got a hound to tickle.

Ready and Waiting

Hello!
Me again.
Well the house is now puppy-proof. It's been emptied and we've all moved into a hotel...lol.

Another card featuring stamps from MFT, this time the 'Cool Day' and 'Snowflake Flurry' set and 'Stitched Hillside Borders' dies from Lawn Fawn. The snowflakes were white heat embossed, the background distressed and flicked with water droplets to create the distant snowy effect. Mr Bear was coloured with Zig markers.

A sprinkle of sequins, a waft of Wink of Stella glitter and another Christmas card completed.
2 more sleeps til puppy dawg arrives....Yay!

Introducing....

 Cooooooooey!
I hope you're having a groovy week.
It's all go in our house at the moment as we prepare to welcome a new addition to our family...

... meet Maddie, who's coming to live with us at the weekend....Squeeeeeeeeeal.
So it's been pretty busy while we puppy-proof the house and get all the bits n' bobs that she will need.

In between extensive reading and watching every puppy-training video ever made, I have managed to make some more Christmas cards.
For this one I used the tiny accessory images from the Santa's Elves stamp set from MFT.

I made a stencil circle (see details here) & simply stamped around with black Versafine ink and coloured with my Zig markers.

I then stamped out the tree from the same set onto a spare piece of card, cut it out and placed it in the centre with 3d foam.
I added some white dotty highlights, glossy accents to the baubles and sequins to finish.

Roll on the weekend!

Baked With Love

Morrrrrrrrning!
A quick break from making Christmas cards and a card for my mother-in-law who was 91yrs young this week!!!!
She's a legend in the kitchen, always baking the most delicious cakes, but alas none of her skills have ever rubbed off on me, I remain cateringly challenged.

Good Elf To You All

An uber quickie from me as I'm posting in the advert breaks of The Walking Dead, I've got 90 secs to post before it's back on again.

This is another card I've made for my daughter's charity fund raising mission... here.

Quite simple, I've created a distressed inked background with a dauber. These little daubers are excellent for controlling the amount of ink applied and don't leave ink sponge shapes that you sometimes get with the Tim Holtz square & round applicators. I used MFT's 'Santa's Elves' stamp set, coloured with Zig markers, cut out and added to my card base with foam pads.

A few essential sequins,  a swoosh with a wink of Stella, white liquid pearl fur trimmings, a sentiment from Paper Smooches et voila!
Gotta dash....don't wanna miss a thing!
